About Marilyn

Marilyn

Hi, I am Marilyn, I decided to create this website to help people like myself search for ideas/suggestions that can assist as caretakers/givers of seniors/people living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and living on their own as in the case of my uncle.

“Just looking for a guy for a Job”

In November 2019, on Veterans Day, I got a call from my sister who lives in the US, who got a call from a family friend inquiring about my uncle. The family friend saw my uncle at a beach on the island’s eastern side (St. Thomas, USVI) looking a bit unkempt and disoriented. The friend asked my uncle what he was doing there so early in the morning, and my uncle replied he was “looking for a guy about a job”, based on how my uncle’s appearance, he called my sister who in turn called me my brother and I retrieved him from the beach. A few weeks later, we got a call from a police officer informing us that my uncle was at the hospital. He was picked up by the police after someone called 911 because he was trying to scale a fence on their property as a shortcut to get to his home in Roseau which is in Dominica, however, he was in St. Thomas. It was then we decided to take him to a Neurologist who diagnosed him with Dementia.

My Struggle

When I first started taking care of my uncle, I had little support, it was challenging at times to manage two households however I was able to push through. It is because of this, I would like to provide ideas to help us all cope with loved ones with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

Also, I recently joined one of the largest affiliate marketing platforms in the world.  They teach success online and have helped many people like myself to accomplish this.  They also have sessions on building blogs like this one.  So if you are interested in starting a blog you can definitely join us at www.wealthyaffiliate.com.

My Goal

The goal of this site is to provide helpful ideas or suggestions that can help people who have or know someone with loved ones or friends who are dealing with persons with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

All the best,

Marilyn Henderson
